THE VOICE OF THE TIGERS
The East Texas Baptist University athletic department will broadcast all football games and select men's and women's basketball games along with select post-season games.
East Texas Baptist University Director of Public Relations Mike Midkiff has been the play-by-play voice for Tiger football since 2010. He can be heard calling other Tiger teams as well on the ETBU Sports Net.
Midkiff started his broadcasting career as a high school sophomore. For KOCA, he called Kilgore High School football, basketball and baseball. While a student at Sam Houston State University, he could be heard on Bearkat football and baseball broadcast on KSHU, the campus radio station. Midkiff spent five years in the booth covering Marshall High School football for KMHT radio before becoming the Voice of the Tigers. Midkiff was in the broadcast booth with station manager Chris Paddie when the Marshall Mavericks played in consecutive trips to the Class 4A Texas High School Football State Championship games in 2004 and 2005.
Joining Midkiff in the Tiger broadcast booth for home games this year is Ray Delk of Marshall. He played high school football at Longview High School and went on to play at Arkansas Tech. Delk is a former ETBU Board of Trustee member and works for the Good Shepherd Health System. He returns as the color commentator for Tiger football after a one season absence.
ETBU Sports Information Director Adam Ledyard will join Midkiff in the booth for Tiger road games.
