MARSHALL, Texas – The East Texas Baptist University offense was slowed down for a second straight game, dropping an American Southwest Conference men's basketball game to Sul Ross State University 62-45. ETBU now stands at 4-3 overall and 0-3 in the ASC East.

ETBU was outscored 37-20 in the opening half, shooting 22.6% from the field, and just 14.3% from behind the arc. ETBU slowed down the hot shooting Lobos in the second half, but it was not enough to come back as they fell for their third straight game.

Jordan Gosey was the lone Tiger with double-digits with 10 points, and finished the game with 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. Jordan Quillian had nine points and 11 rebounds. Jay McKnight was a spark off the bench tonight with seven points.

ETBU shot 25.9% from the floor, and 19% from behind the arc in the game. ETBU had 45 rebounds as a team, and turned the ball over 21 times.

Caleb Thomasson finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Jacob Dawson and A.J. James each finished with 11 points as well. Sul Ross shot 38.1%, 34.8%, and 54.5% from all three phases in the game.

ETBU will return to action this Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. tipoff against Howard Payne University in Ornelas Gymnasium.
