RICHARDSON, Texas – For the second week in a row an East Texas Baptist University football player has been named the American Southwest Conference "Defensive Player of the Week." Caleb Taylor earned the award for his play at Southwestern University.

Taylor set a career-high with 17 tackles, 10 solo, along with three tackles for a loss and a pair of forced fumbles in the Tigers' 28-10 victory at Southwestern. The win moved ETBU to 2-0 on the year and 1-0 in the ASC.

ETBU is home for the first time this year on September 23 hosting Belhaven University.
