MARSHALL, Texas – For the second year in a row, East Texas Baptist University head cross country coach Natalie Bach-Prather had the opportunity to run in the Boston Marathon after qualifying last year with her time at the race.  She ran with several runners from the East Texas area that she trains with year round.

Bach-Prather narrowly missed beating her time from last year, but says she plans on running again in the future. “It was second best time ever in the Boston Marathon,” said Bach-Prather.  “It was tough and beautiful weather and hot.  It was phenomenal experience.  I was very happy with my time and the amount of people that showed up to participate and cheer was amazing.  The spirit of Boston came together today.  I would not have missed it for the world.”

Bach-Prather’s time of 3:36.20 is seven seconds off her time of 3:29.44 last year in the marathon and her pace of 8:04 is only five seconds off her career best pace from last year.

Last year she was at the site of the bombing a half an hour before it took place and then in honor of the victims she setup a Memorial Run in April.
